Event narrative

Heavy snowfall and gusty winds impacted the mountains of Santa Barbara county. Snow levels dropped to between 2000 and 3000 feet. Estimated snowfall totals ranged between 6 and 16 inches. Additionally, gusty winds in excess of 50 MPH were reported.

Wider weather episode

A cold and powerful winter storm brought significant winter storm conditions to the Antelope Valley as well as the mountains of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles counties. Snow levels bottomed out to between 2000 and 3000 feet. Across the Antelope Valley, snowfall totals of 3 to 7 inches were reported. In the mountains, snowfall totals up to 34 inches were recorded. Additionally, gusty winds in excess of 50 MPH were reported.
