Rainfall of 0.72 inch was measured near Forestville for the 24 hours ending on the morning of March 3rd. Most of the rain fell in just a few hours overnight. The rain fell on a deck covered with about 30 inches of snow. The homeowner was beneath the deck, apparently attempting to jack up the sagging structure, when the combined weight of the rain and snow caused it to collapse on him. The man died after being buried in snow and timbers.
