An area of low pressure moved from the Texas Panhandle region northeastward to southern Wisconsin from the 26th into the morning of the 27th. Heavy snowfall spread across northeastern Minnesota starting the afternoon and evening of the 26th before tapering off the afternoon of the 27th. Widespread amounts of 6 to 10 inches fell in this area with the highest amounts seen downwind of the head of Lake Superior where lake enhancement occurred.
