A clipper-type low pressure system brought mainly light snow to the region on the 13th. However, the snow was substantially enhanced downwind of Lake Michigan. Southerly winds focused this lake enhancement in far western Mackinac County in eastern upper Michigan. By late afternoon on the 13th, Curtis had picked up 11 inches of new snow.
