The fog reduced visibility to less than an eighth of a mile at several locations, and resulted in several school districts either opening late or delaying or cancelling bus service as it persisted until late morning when it lifted into a low cloud deck. The low stratus deck slowly dissipated during the afternoon. The fog also contributed to two multi-vehicle accidents near Caruthers.
