Observer located twenty-three miles north-northeast of Torrington measured 8.0 inches of snowfall shortly after 6 PM on the 28th.
Wider weather episode
A potent winter storm impacted the Nebraska Panhandle Post-Christmas travel with heavy snow totals throughout much of the area. Areas of blowing snow and slick road conditions caused travel delays particularly across Interstate 80 in Cheyenne and Kimball Counties. The foot of snow was measured up in Chadron with many 6 inch plus reports across much of the Panhandle.
