Event narrative

A National Weather Service Storm Survey Team determined that a downburst produced straight-line wind damage approximately 5 miles north of the town of Patrick. The damage occurred on Cresthaven Rd, just off of Hunts Mill Rd, and was confined to a small area that was approximately 175 yards long by 175 yards wide. At that

location, there was a mobile home that was pushed off its supports and partially flipped, with extensive damage being done to the home. There were 6 people in the residence at the time, and they were transported to a local hospital for evaluation. Just SW of the mobile home, there was a pine tree that was broken off several feet above the ground. No other damage was found.

Wider weather episode

A cold front and associated band of showers and a few thunderstorms moved east across the region during the late day and evening hours of January 24, 2020. An isolated severe thunderstorm produced wind damage.
