A moist northwest flow ushering in quickly falling temperatures resulted in snow showers developing near the Tennessee/North Carolina border by early evening on the 26th, which then continued through the overnight before ending by late morning of the 27th. Appreciable snow accumulations were primarily confined to the higher elevations of the counties bordering Tennessee, where 1 to 4 inches, with some locally higher amounts fell.
