Event narrative

Convective winds downed several trees on Dundee road.

Wider weather episode

Strengthening low pressure moved across Ontario into Quebec province during the afternoon of March 20th. This storm developed a strong low-level jet (5000-6000 ft) of 50-60+ knots across the region. In addition, a strong cold front moved across an unseasonably mild air mass to develop scattered showers and low-topped thunderstorms.

The updrafts of some of these thunderstorms reached vertically enough to tap into the low-level jet allowing for isolated damaging wind gusts.
