Event narrative

Alaska 511 reported at 735am on 2/26 that the Klondike Highway was closed due to small avalanches on road. Blowing and drifting snow with possible blizzard conditions at the pass with wind gusts of 20 to 35 mph. Snow accumulation was a minimum of 5 inches. The road was re-opened at noon on the 27th.

Wider weather episode

An east to west frontal band moved northward over the region spreading snow across the northern Lynn Canal region.
