A deepening low pressure area over north Florida and attendant cold front over the eastern Gulf of Mexico was accompanied by a pre-frontal trough and squall line. The squall line swept across the Florida Keys and adjacent coastal waters from west to east, accompanied by widespread gale-force wind gusts.
