A COOP observer reported 2.2 inches of snow 6 miles southwest of Danielsville and a CoCoRaHS observer reported 1.1 inches 5 miles southeast of Nicholson.

Wider weather episode

A fast moving mid-level short wave swept through the region during the morning and early afternoon. With a fairly cold airmass in place over north Georgia and ample mid-level moisture, moderate to heavy snow quickly accumulated across a large portion of north Georgia.
