Sheboygan lakeshore observation measured a 40 knot wind gust as thunderstorms moved through the area.
Wider weather episode
A passing cold front and vigorous low pressure short wave triggered several lines of heavy showers and a few thunderstorms that caused strong gusty winds along the Lake Michigan shore during the evening. A very dry atmosphere in the low levels contributed to the strong, gusty winds.
