The Heard County Emergency Manager reported dozens of trees and power lines blown down across the northern portion of the county.

The wider storm

A developing surface low along a sharp cold front produced a line of thunderstorms that swept across portions of north and central Georgia. An area of very strong winds accompanied a portion of this line across several counties with numerous reports of downed trees, damaged structures and power outages.
