A public report was received of half dollar size hail approximately five miles south of Peacock.

Scattered thunderstorms developed in the south-central Texas Panhandle and central South Plains on the afternoon of the 11th along a diffuse dryline aided by an upper level disturbance. These storms tracked into the Rolling Plains and southeastern Texas Panhandle into the evening with some storms becoming severe. Additional severe thunderstorms developed across the Big Country into the Rolling Plains affecting Stonewall County. Hail as large as golf balls was reported with a storm that moved over Aspermont (Stonewall County) during the afternoon, while penny to quarter size hail was observed near Memphis (Hall County), Childress (Childress County), and Kirkland (Childress County) during the evening.
