Wider weather episode
Strong shear associated with enhanced low level wind fields and weak instability within a warm sector led to a period of gusty winds for much of the day on February 6th, followed by a broken line of strong to severe thunderstorms as a cold front swept through Southeast Georgia during late afternoon into the evening. Strong and gusty winds prevailed behind the departing front, mainly until enhanced low level wind fields shifted further offshore during morning hours on February 7th.
