CoCoRaHS station NV-DG-23 6 miles west of Gardnerville reported 1.47 inches of rainfall in a 24-hour period from 7 December 0700PST to 8 December 0700PST.

Wider weather episode

An atmospheric river associated with a large mid-latitude cyclone brought rainfall and snowfall to the Sierra Nevada and Western Nevada over the course of three days. Liquid totals were between 1 and 2 inches across foothill locations west of Reno, Carson City, and Minden. For the Reno-Carson City-Minden areas, liquid totals ranged between 0.50 and 1.00 inches. Snowfall totals along the higher terrain of the Carson Range were between 1 to 2 feet.
