Strong winds developed early in the morning of March 29th and continued into the evening. Wind gusts between 55 mph and 60 mph were common. In Chicago, a 61 mph wind gust was measured in Hyde Park; a large tree was snapped blocking a roadway in the Ukrainian Village; a two story house under construction in Logan Square collapsed on Courtland Street and two panels of siding were hanging from the 14th floor of a building on Michigan Avenue, which was closed.
