Event narrative

Winds generally were gusting to 45 to 55 mph. At 1131 PM EST on the 26th (1231 AM EDT on the 27th), the ASOS atop the Blue Hill in Milton recorded a gust to 53 mph. In Milton at 532 AM EST, a large tree was down on Canton Avenue, blocking the sidewalk.

Wider weather episode

Low pressure meandered off the coast of Nantucket late on the 26th and through the 27th providing a murky, cold, blustery day. Strong winds from aloft mixed down from around 850 mb over eastern Massachusetts during the overnight and early morning hours, causing some minor wind damage.
