A RAWS site located 13 miles west northwest of Merritt Dam recorded a minimum temperature of 24 degrees. Low temperatures in the mid 20s were common throughout western Cherry County.
Wider weather episode
Cold surface high pressure settled over western and north central Nebraska during the early morning and morning hours on May 10th. This caused freezing temperatures in the 20s across much of the area. The coldest temperatures was 21 degrees at Gordon airport.
