Dime to quarter size hail fell in Silver City.

Wider weather episode

A warm and unstable airmass was in place across the region. A decaying outflow boundary from storms that occurred in the Midwest moved through Louisiana and into Mississippi. Severe thunderstorms associated with this outflow brought wind damage and some small hail. Additional thunderstorms developed due to daytime heating.
