The COOP observer at the Hidden Falls hatchery measured 8.0 inches of new snowfall for 24 hours ending at 1300 on 2/3. Analyses indicated that most of this snow was from 0800 to noon that day.
Wider weather episode
The arctic front became stationary over southeast Alaska on Saturday and Sunday, 2/3 and 2/4. Warm moist air aloft from the Gulf moved over the front causing heavy snow.
