Event narrative
NWS storm survey found that a tornado that began in Hall County, then moved across extreme southwest Habersham County, then extreme northern Banks County, moved back into Habersham County in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest. Multiple trees were uprooted as the tornado moved east across the extreme southeast part of the county before moving into Stephens County near Reservoir Number 44.
Wider weather episode
A strong storm system impacted the Southeast, resulting in a line of strong to severe thunderstorms that moved across northeast Georgia during the early morning hours of the 13th. This resulted in severe weather, including a couple of tornadoes.
