Calhoun County Airport AWOS measured a gust to 59 mph.

An extensive squall line developed over the southern plains during the afternoon of the 28th and moved southward through central and east Texas during the night. The squall line reached the Middle Texas coast during the morning hours of the 29th. Wind gusts up to 60 mph occurred over the Coastal Bend.
