Event narrative

Heavy snowfall blanketed the mountains of Los Angeles county. At the resort level (around 7000 feet), snowfall totals of 8 to 16 inches were reported. Additionally, southerly winds, gusting to 50 MPH, were observed.

Wider weather episode

A powerful late-season storm moved across Southwestern California. The storm brought significant rainfall to the area with totals up to 3.00 inches reported. In the mountains, snow levels dropped to around 4500 feet and significant snowfall was reported at elevations above 5000 feet. Along with the snow, gusty southerly winds impacted the area with gusts up to 50 MPH.
