Naples Municipal Airport recorded only a trace of rainfall for the entire month of March, and only 0.81 inches through the first 3 weeks of April. This led to the development of severe drought conditions across all of Collier County.

Wider weather episode

A very dry March and beginning of April led to severe drought conditions which developed over interior and western sections of southern Florida by the 3rd week of April. Several wildfires were reported in these areas.
