Event narrative
A peak wind gust of 66 mph was measured by the automated weather station at the Meeker Coulter Field Airport.
Wider weather episode
Midlevel moisture gradually increased across western Colorado as a ridge of high pressure remained overhead. This increase in moisture was enough to fuel scattered showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, July 12th and again on Monday, July 13th. However, the lower levels of the atmosphere remained dry which led to minimal rainfall and gusty and erratic outflow winds from showers and storms.
