Strong and gusty northwest winds demolished several banana plantations and broke tree branches early Thursday morning. A fast moving convection associated with a trough pass through Manu'a and Tutuila, causing agricultural damages and flying debris across the Islands.
The Islands of Manu'a had a high gust of 46 miles an hour while Tutuila Isle recorded a high gust of 42 miles an hour at Cape Matatula. The Weather Service Office recorded a gust of 40 miles an hour for this event.
The Weather Service Office issued a Wind Advisory around 10 am through 1 pm local time.
No injury reported.
