Event narrative

On May 21st, isolated thunderstorms developed over the coastal waters of the Laguna Madre near Kenedy county. One of these storms briefly moved over the RSJT2 buoy and produced gusts ranging from 35-37 knots consistently between 6:24 and 6:42 PM.

Wider weather episode

On May 21st, the mid level ridge over Deep South Texas began to weaken, and with an influx in moisture and conditional instability, some isolated thunderstorms developed over the lower Texas coastal waters during the afternoon hours.
