Event narrative
A member of the public reported large hail. They sent a picture of 1.0 inch hail taken next to a quarter for size estimation. The reporter said that the picture was taken after some melting had occurred.
Wider weather episode
Strong surface heating, an upper level short wave, and monsoonal moisture in place combined to support the development of numerous afternoon and evening thunderstorms. Some of these thunderstorms dropped large hail.
