Wider weather episode
A line of thunderstorms developed over southeast Wisconsin / northern Illinois before moving south-southeast across Lake Michigan and into the region. Bowing segments were embedded within the line which produced damage across southern Lower Michigan and northern Indiana generally along and north of US Highway 30. The combination of low and mid level jet and an associated mesoscale convective vortex aided in the development of strong and damaging winds.
