Event narrative

Strong southwest peak wind gusts recorded ahead of a cold front included 60 mph by the SR-68 at Mosida sensor and 58 mph by the I-15 at Lampson Canyon sensor. Strong northwest peak wind gusts recorded behind the cold front included 68 mph at the San Jose sensor, 63 mph at the Flight Park South sensor, and 61 mph at the Eagle Mountain at the Ranches Clubhouse sensor.

Wider weather episode

A strong storm system brought high winds across most of western Utah, which resulted in widespread damaging wind gusts, as well as dangerous fire weather conditions.
