Peak wind gusts recorded included 67 mph at the U.S. Army Dugway Proving Ground Tower Grid and Camel Back Mountain sensors. Other peak wind gusts recorded included 66 mph by the I-80 at MP 2 Tripod sensor and 65 mph by the Salt Flats sensor.
Wider weather episode
A strong storm system brought high winds across most of western Utah, which resulted in widespread damaging wind gusts, as well as dangerous fire weather conditions.
