Event narrative
Snow accumulated 3 to 5 inches. The snow and ice on roads contributed to a fatal vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 75 about 3 miles north of Luverne, where one person died and two others were injured in a head-on collision at about 10 am.
Wider weather episode
Widepsread snow produced areas of heavy accumulations over southwest Minnesota during the predawn and daytime hours of March 31st. Accumulations varied from a little under 6 inches to a little over 6 inches.
