Event narrative

Thunderstorm wind blew several trees down in the City of Danville including a large tree on Hillcrest Avenue and one on Mountain Hill Road. Power lines were also brought down either by the wind or the falling trees. Damage values are estimated.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front moved southeast into the region. Showers and storms developed ahead and along this feature, with some of the storms increasing to severe levels, producing damaging winds and large hail.
