A low pressure system moving east across the central United States brought a rare summertime cold front into Arkansas and Louisiana on July 31st. A line of thunderstorms developed along this cold front and raced into the hot and unstable air mass ahead of the front through the day. Damaging wind gusts accompanied these thunderstorms as they moved through portions of Mississippi.
