Event narrative

Thunderstorm winds blew down three trees in the City of Martinsville. Along Spruce Street, single trees were blown down at the intersection of both Mulberry Road and also Parkview Avenue. At the intersection of Smith Street and Katherine Street a tree fell, taking a power line with it. Both the tree and line blocked the road. Damage values are estimated.

Wider weather episode

A moist and unstable summertime weather pattern allowed for the development of scattered showers and storms. A single storm increased to severe levels and produced damaging winds which downed trees.
