Thunderstorm winds blew a large limb down within Mt. View Cemetery and also brought down power lines along Halifax Road, both events within the City of Danville. Damage values are estimated.

Wider weather episode

A cold front approached the region and atmospheric conditions were moist and unstable. This was just the right combination for the development of showers and storms. Some of these storms increased to severe levels and caused damaging winds that downed trees and power lines.
