A shortwave moved across the state and tapped into some mid level moisture to produce scattered thunderstorms. With large dew point depressions, some showers and storms produced strong wind gusts. The strongest was at the Sweetwater County airport near Rock Springs where a maximum wind gust of 78 mph was reported. Other notable gusgts included 60 mph at the Big Piney airport and 59 mph at the Lander airport.
