Event narrative

The Morgan County 911 center reported trees blown down across the southeastern portion of the county from around the intersection of Kingston Road and Cochran Road to I-20 east of Buckhead.

A deep, persistent upper trough over the eastern U.S. finally began to weaken over the region, however ample moisture and strong daytime heating resulted in moderate instability and scattered strong to severe thunderstorms each afternoon and evening.
