Event narrative

A CWOP station in Bristol measured a wind gust to 44 mph at 608 AM EDT, but at nearby T.F. Green Airport (KPVD), the ASOS measured a gust to 56 mph at 723 AM EDT. In Barrington at 433 AM EDT, power lines were down on Adams Point Road and at 627 AM EDT, a tree and wires were down on Bay Road.

Wider weather episode

A cold front produced a fine line of low-topped convection that moved across the region from west to east during the morning. A southerly low level jet of 80 knots at 850 mb, combined with fully leafed trees, helped cause damaging winds.
