Shortwave trough moves into The Northern Rockies and continues east-northeastward across Montana. Thunderstorm development occurs across the mountains during the early afternoon hours, with coverage expected to increase as the shortwave moves eastward. Greatest instability and potential for organized storm updrafts with hail and locally heavy

rain, in addition to strong winds, exists early in the afternoon with initial storms. Then, transition to more of a widespread thunderstorm wind threat as storms track eastward into the evening.
