Event narrative

A waterspout was observed near Sand Key Light. The condensation funnel cloud extended one third the way from cloud base to the surface, however a spray ring was not observed due to the distance from the observer. The movement was estimated to be towards the west.

Wider weather episode

An isolated waterspout was observed in association with a rain shower southwest of Key West. A weak high pressure ridge extended across the Florida Peninsula, with light easterly lower tropospheric flow over the Florida Keys.
