The Swinging Bridge Fire started south of Jackson, Wyoming during the afternoon of September 6th. The fire spread rapidly and threatened three subdivisions in the area that had to be evacuated. Evacuations were lifted the next day as the fire was brought under control. Cooler weather and snow helped extinguish the fire by September 9th. A total of 102 acres was burned in the fire.
