Event narrative

Up to four inches of rain fell in a 4 hour period causing flash flooding. Numerous roads were flooded including Highway DD north of I-70, Highway M north of I-70, and U.S. Highway 54 near Auxvasse.

Wider weather episode

A combination of old outflow boundaries and a cold front moved through the region, triggering widespread showers and storms. Some of the storms became severe with damaging winds, large hail and flash flooding.
