A 72 mph wind gust measured at the mesonet site 18 miles north northeast of Berniece. 71 mph was measured 4 miles south southeast of Spencer. And several 60 to 66 mph gusts measured near Dubois.
Wider weather episode
A strong cold front passed through eastern Idaho shifting southerly winds to northeasterly with sustained speeds over 40 mph and gusts over 50 mph widespread. Extensive traffic problems and damage occurred.
