Very strong wind gusts developed over the higher mountain areas. Peak wind gusts atop Berthoud Pass ranged from 90 to 104 mph. Elsewhere across the mountains and foothills, peak wind gusts ranged from 60 to 70 mph. Strong wind gusts also occurred over northern Weld County briefly in the afternoon. Peak gusts to 63 mph and 62 mph were observed near Briggsdale, and 6 miles southwest of Carr respectively.
