Event narrative

Sawtooth search and rescue reported more than 30 trees down across the Stanley Basin area with back country roads blocked. The Beaver Creek area was especially hard hit.

Wider weather episode

A strong cold front passed through eastern Idaho shifting southerly winds to northeasterly with sustained speeds over 40 mph and gusts over 50 mph widespread. Extensive traffic problems and damage occurred.
