Deepening low pressure tracking across the Ottawa Valley propelled a cold front across the region during the early afternoon. There were some gradient winds present, for which a wind advisory was out, but widespread rain to start the day held down mixing. The strongest winds occurred as the front and associated convection swung across the region. This resulted in a couple of severe storms occurring with wind damage. There was also a lot of small hail with some of it dime to nickel size reported in Monroe county.
