Buoy 41009 located 25 miles east of Port Canaveral recorded a peak wind gust of 39 knots from the west as a squall line crossed the platform.

As a weakening squall line of thunderstorms moved quickly across coastal locations and the adjacent Atlantic waters from Volusia County to Indian River County during Christmas Eve, strong wind gusts affected most locations.
